For Jordan Matthews of Rosy-Lane Holsteins, running 100 miles and biking 100 miles was about more than pushing his physical limits. It was about family, supporting a cause close to his heart, and helping others facing cancer. Through his Crossing Wisconsin challenge, Jordan set out to raise support for the UW Carbone Cancer Center—and fellow dairy producers stepped up to join him in the effort.
On the Uplevel Dairy Podcast, host Peggy Coffeen talks with Jordan about the personal motivation behind his challenge, the family connections that inspired him, and the support from fellow producers who helped turn an individual goal into a shared mission.
More Than Miles: Family, Community and Purpose
Dairy is an industry built on relationships. Families work together to care for their farms, and producers show up for one another when it matters most. Jordan’s Crossing Wisconsin challenge reflects that same spirit, bringing people together around a cause that reaches beyond the farm.
His story also highlights the importance of personal health. Dairy producers spend so much time caring for their families, cows and businesses that their own well-being can take a back seat. Jordan’s experience is a reminder that taking care of yourself matters, too—and that having a strong support system can make a meaningful difference.
